gas pedal sticking
im having problems with the pedal sticking when i first punch to go.its only when i first start it up back out the driveway and start to lightly accelerate you got to give it a little force.my moms 99 monte did the same exact thing.both 3800's.could it be motors?
Hi Jeff,
Here's one suggestion from `Space & the net : )
I hope this helps, but you may want to check back to
see what other members post.
When you say the gas pedal is sticking do you mean just as you step on the gas pedal, that very first moment of movement? If that is the case it is likely that you have carbon deposits on the throttle plate and bore of the throttle body. The problem may even be more pronounced when the engine is cool. The solution is a simple cleaning of the throttle plate and bore. Use a soft plastic brush or rag and mild cleaner. A little WD-40 works pretty well at softening up the deposits, add a some elbow grease until the surfaces shine again and the problem should be gone.
Good Luck `Jeff

Mine does the same as does my sister's '99 Chevy truck, as far as I know her truck has always done it. It only does it when you first start it up, after the intial "hard spot", it doesn't do it anymore.I've only drove my mom's new '08 Chevy truck once, don't recall whether it did it or not.
