so a crazy thing happened to my car like 2 days ago my CEL light can on and stayed on I went to Auto Zone and they plugged in the computer and it said it was a fuel pressure problem (side note: in Oregon you can not pump your own gas ) and he said to check the gas cap so I did and it was loose ( we thought the gas att did not tighten it good )and the blueish green seal was going bad and making the cap not fit tight any more and was not making a tight seal causing the CEL light to come on .I got a new locking gas cap and the guy said drive it around for a wile and the light will shut off and the light went off this morning .Has this happened to any one else ?? I had never heard of this before

 

It happens, you could also replace the gas cap and then d/c the battery for a while to reset the code.

 

cool man I just had never heard of that before with a gas cap i was thinking it was a bigger problem with the car and the guy just wanted to sell me a gas cap !! LOL

I will have to put up a pic of my car battery it a pain in the * to disconnect with all the stuff i have hooked up

 

All the stuff is hooked up to the Positive cable isn't it? Because you just need to d/c the negative for a while haha

 

LOL you need a pic !! I will get a quick one when I get home don't forget I am running 3 batteries and a 300 amp alt that we ran 0 gage wire to everything battery cable ground and to the alt and the to the extra battery/ stereo

 

And this is why I had that code removed when the PCM was tuned
