Default Fuel-up Issues

Every time i set out to pump some liquid gold on my Monte, that thing lags. I cant use full pressure to fill up. I have to pump it very slowly. If i go too fast the pump handle will kick off. Like if it was full. The guy that i traded for my truck said there was a ball or something that regulates the flow and that "ball" thing whatever it is is screwed up. Anyone had anything familiar? Sending unit works 100% correctly. Mechanic said that the vent line is pinched or something but an open vent line?!?!? Rather do it myself than have to pay 200 for something so simple. Unless i have to buy a new gas tank

At some stations with my old truck I'd have to tip the nozzle to the side. Just be careful cuz the gas can splash out easier.

I feel your pain...you are not alone. My '03 does the same thing-if I pump too fast it kicks off, and I can hear the gas gurgling back up. Every once in a while I'll hit the sweet spot and in it goes. I have no idea why this happens, but it's not that big of a problem so I've never bothered addressing the issue. All the same if you figure it out, let me know!
