Default Front wheel locks up (only in reverse)

I've recently been experienceing trouble with my front left tire. I just changed the caliper on that tire but i have confidence in myself that it was done correctly. I've been hearing a slight rubbing sound coming from that tire for the past few days but that didn't worry me. Then, yesterday, i hit a small pot hole and noticed that a sound was occuring that seemed to sound like something was loose. Now today, when backing out of work and the gym parking spots my tire locked up twice during an entire revolution. PLEASE HELP! I need to be able to get to work without my wheel rolling down the highway next to me!

DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR. Pull the wheel and check for loose parts.

ok.. but it breaks fine. infact the only time it seems to work properly (the whole assembly in general) is when i am braking... does that change anything?

Yeah, it means something is broke or loose. You are endangering yourself and others by driving it. If you rip the caliper off, it will pull the hose apart leading to NO BRAKEING.

This has happened on our minivan a few times. The caliper actually seized up, it would smell something terrible after getting that thing home.

Double check your caliper installation and ensure no old, worn parts broke during installation.
