Fourth Gen SS, Starter/Header clearance
On my 84 ss i just installed new headers, i had to take the starter off the finangle the damn things into posistion and now i've got them all bolted on. the problem is that now the headers are in the way and i cant get the starter installed.... any tips on what i should do. BTW i cant cut the headers to re-shape or re-route them.
I'll take a couple pics of the problem in a little bit

Until I see pics all I can think of is too unbolt the engine mounts, loosen the trans mount and raise the engine a little until you have enough clearance to get the header on with the starter still bolted on. YOu should be able to move the engine up an inch or so without having to unbolt or remove anything else as long as you are careful and pay attention.
Then again that may be too much and going about it the hard way.

thanks man, i'm going to try and loosen the bolts on the header for a little wiggle room. if that doesnt work i'll try your suggestion. and if neither work i'll post some pics.
and a little extra info incase someone else had this problem with the exact setup, i'm using a set of FLOWtech G-body headers and i have a 350/TH350 swap in the car

thanks for the advice, turns out loosening the header bolts gave me just enough room to get the starter into place and get the bolts in. so after plenty of contemplation, and a busted knuckle. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED
