Default fog lights 97 Z34

I have a wierd situation. My 97 has factory fog lights- they are on all the time with the DRL and at night with the headlights. I don't have a switch that operates them. What was GM thinking aside from providing Sylvania with a continual income stream. On the other hand, i haven't seen any other MC's with the same setup. Any ideas?? BTW, sorry for the pic and the passenger side fog has been replaced and is fully functional.

Im not sure what you are asking? Are you asking how to put a switch in to turn them off? I put fogs on my 97 z34. The switch has 1 ground wire running to it, one wire running to it from the headlights and one wire running to the relay. In your case, you may be able to put a single stage switch in the power supply wire that runs to therelay or do the same in the ground wire to the relay. Im pretty sure that would work.

for the most part you cn use a switch in either the power or the ground it is a matter of making a complete connection threw the whole thing. I.E. make a complete circut.

so the way he says will work OR you can take the power wire and cut it put a switch in it and mount it where you can get to it easily.
This will allow you to turn them on or off.

If you have a place for it and feel like gettign creative you can get a switch out of a 6th Gen monte and they are desinged to work when you push them on but then when power is cut they break circut and wont come back on till ya hit the button on them to do so.

Well obviously you will have to lengthen the wire you put the switch in. Didnt think that needed to be addressed because what useis a switch if you cant reach it to use it, lol.

Thanks for the replies and sorry for posting more of a statement rather than a question. I was looking to see if there was anything from the factory that you are aware of that would stop them from being on all the time- I thought since some vehicles are able to deactivate DRL, maybe there was a way to only have the fogs come on if I turned the lights on- they are on the dash sensor so they switch from DRL to headlights on their own. I will likely change out the lights since the lenses are a bit cloudy and the bulbs are I think only a 27 Watt, I don't want to continually have the fogs on at that point.
