Question Fluid changes and other tune ups.

Hey Everyone,
I am looking to do a tune up on my 2004 3.8 Monte. I just recently replaced the tensioner pulley and belt. Looking to maybe change my coolant, brake, and power steering fluid as well. Any suggestions on when this type of maintenance should be done, and even if its good practice to do so? I have never changed any other fluids besides oil since I bought it about six years ago. Also, what about spark plugs? How often should I be replacing those? Any other suggestions for basic tune ups I can do myself?
Thanks in advanced!

Changing fluids is always a good idea on a older car. I would also recommend afuel filter and transmission filter change since you didn't mention doing it in the past . As for spark plugs and wires , the first set was designed to last 100,000 miles I would suggest putting the same plug back in , there are tons of different choices but that's your option. As for changing coolant , swap out the thermostat at that time and flush system to get all that nasty stuff out. And if you're capable bleed the brakes after switching fluid or have a shop pressure bleed the system us best way. Good luck

Here is a thread that sums up much of what to handle with maintenance:

And as Jeff said, the factory plus were made to last to 100K, 150K on the FAR stretch. Use AC Delco or NGK platinum plugs. BTW - Many of the factory plugs are re-branded NGK (I've pulled many out with both brandings on them).
