Hey everyone I've been told that engine code p0440 isn't a big deal as far as dreiveability problems...are there any symptoms that I should be aware of like loss of mpg or anything. N also I have replaced my gas cap cause I was certain that was it but the light cam back on...how do you test the purge selinoid and carbon canister to see which one is at fault?

 

someone help us out here. I just got this same code on my 02 SS also.
If this is a dumb question straiten us out on that too.

There are far too many factors in the system for that code, could easily just be a cracked hose for the system. Many mechanics can smoke test this.
