I have a 99 Z34. My bro got it new. I got it w/119k mi.When the brakes are applied and the left turn signal on, the right brake light goes out. Cancel the left signal and right brake light returns.The right turn signal and brake light do not act this way.Would the problem be in the multi function switch or the tail/brake lights?Thanks for any info. I had that exact situation. If I moved the lever around while the signal was on, the brake light would come on. I took a chance, replaced the multifunction switch (which is not the turn signal stalk, by the way) and all is good now. It's a pain to fix, because you have to remove the airbag, steering wheel, etc. to remove the multifunction switch.
