Both fans are not always running. I went over a median in a parking lot once not paying attention. After that there was loud clicking time to time for a couple days. When I got it checked, I found out that I knocked one of the fans loose. I heard the clicking only when that fan was running. It is all about the temperature for both fans to be running.
