Hi,
The doors do not close very well on my 2004 Monte SS.

My car only has 60,000 miles. The doors have no vertical movement so I don't think the hinges are worn out.
I was told there is no adjustment on these doors.
What do you think ? Anybody has this problem ?
Thanks

Thank you for your replies.
I bought the car used at 50,000 miles and it was in mint condition.
I am not aware of anything happening to the doors, especially not to both doors. Hinges and everything look normal to me.

These doors are long and heavy, sometimes when you jack the thing up and it's in the air and you open the doors they can misalign I have seen this happen, or if someone sits in the window this causes extra undue stress on the doors. The bolts you see in the hinge ends are the adjustments for the doors. Remember to support the door as you make your adjustment. You might need to loosen it put a jack under the end use a wood 2 by to prevent the jack from pushing on the bottom of the door. I watched my friend adjust the doors on his Monte and he is a body man. sometimes the bushings need replaced as well. Hope that helps a bit.

You could open the door...and adjust the striker inside the door jam...
That's what the door latch actually attaches to when you close the door...
Loosen the 2 torque bits and move the catch inwards toward the interior a little at a time until the door lines up proper when closed..
I recently put new hinge pins on mine and had to realign it...
Using the method I just told you about..
Keep us posted..

Hi,
I followed your advices and I see a huge improvement.
Lifting the doors slightly and loosening the hinges bolts had an effect vertically. Then moving the latches about 1/16 inwards made the doors close tighter and everyting aligns now.
When I loosen the hinges bolts, I found that they were not very tight at all ! Not loose but you know, not a big effort was required. Probably the initial cause of the problem.
Thank you very much guys, your help is greatly appreciated
