Default dog bones - rocking engine

Trying to get the front O2 sensor out of my 2001 ls with 3.4 engine. Warmed it up. Used PB blaster. Have an O2 socket but it still won't budge. I have seen posts about rocking the engine after disconnecting the dog bones to get more working space. I'm assuming you would disconnect at the motor connection not the front frame ones. After you rock the engine forward does it stay put? And, after the work is done what is the best way to get the engine back in place to bolt up again?

Thanks for any help!!!
