Default Dirty orange leak?

Guys,my first post!
I have 2007 Monte, this morning I topped the coolant and later at work I noticed leakage as I pulled out of a parking space.Had a look under the car, seemed to be dampness and drops more or lesst under the area where the coolant tank is.My coolant is orange Dex cool.It was dark and I did a quick check of fluid levels.Coolant looked ok.I may slightly over filled it this morning.Would this have caused a leak? Cap look tight and no dampness round it.Would htransmission fluid (need to check level) have this dirty orange color?
Dipped fingers in fluid on ground, seemed quite clear, not oily or greasy as far as i cud tell. in the dark.No strong smell.Again the leaky area is toward the back of the engine compartment near the coolant tank.

Thanks in advance!

Ken

Hmmm just a shot in the dark here but I've owned GM vehicles in the past and their Coolant tanks are crap because they are made out of plastic and put right next to the motor and over time they will crack. Might want to inspect the tank for any sign of coolant on or around the tank. even the smallest crack could make the difference. Going to inspect mine tomorrow make sure its all okay.

ok,so just checkd Transfluid against leaking stuff. The leak does not smell or feel like trans fluid.Pretty sure it is coolant.I will keep an eye on the level for a day r so.Probably have a dealer look at it soon tho.Just got her back from the shop tho after a rear ender! Poor car

If you had to top the coolant off to begin with you may have a leak somewhere.

I would start to check everywhere you can think, water pump, hoses, etc.

i would get a pressure test done on it to see where the leak is coming from to get the right part replaced

Id say pressure test, check all hoses around the tank, but a shot in the dark says you may have spilled a little if it was just a small couple of droplets. I do it all of the time when topping off fluids.
