Default Coolent

The low coolent light on the messsage center will not go off. The coolent level is fine. How do I restet? Its a 2000 LS

One of the stupid things about these damn sensors...they are smart enough to light up when something's wrong yet can't go out when the problem is fixed, grrr. I'm at work right now so I can't give you the directions on resetting the code but if it's still not answered once I get home I'll let you know.

Ummmmmm... I don't believe the low coolant sensor is one that can be reset. Our coolant sensors have a bad habit of fouling out, this is an R&R item.

I've had to replace the sensor twice due to the light coming on. It is a pain, the battery has to come out, and then it's still tight in there.

That's why mine will go to the shop if mine craps out... lol How much was the sensor??

I get my Chevy parts at cost +10% and it was $34.00, add about 60%, not kidding, so about $55.00 give or take a couple of bucks.

im my 98 i jus deleted the codes, but i deno i think theres another way of resetting the codes through the dash.

as we found out, there is no way to reset the coolant level code on our 2000+ MC's
