Default plugs n stuff

well i bought my monte used and the maintenance was terrible, i got it to a good condition but i got copper plugs instead of platinum anyone know if theres a big difference in power between the two. and does getting the k&n air filter give some more hp at all? i notices its a lil difficult to find performace parts for my make and model does anyone have a remedy?

I have heard nothing but bad things about platinum plugs when it comes to performance. They are only used in cars as a selling point due to thier superior longevity over the standard copper core plugs. But the reality is that platinum is one of the worst conductors. So if logevity is your goal, go with platinum, but if you want performance and longevity, AC/Delco Iridium plugs are the way to go.

04 beat me to it.
as far as the K&N i have one in my car. but i took the screen out at the same time i noticed a diffrence in the way it sounded as far as hearing the air sucking threw it. my car sounds like a shop vac. now. be fore it was real quiet . after it runs for a bit it sound quieter.

but i noticed a seat of the pants diffrence as far as response but do i seriously think a air filter could add allot of gain? No . but i do think that it would help it some and it defently cant hurt to change the filter to somethign that flows better.

Also i have used K&N in everthign since i owned my first car so it was a somethign i do kind of like why i buy plug wires right after i buy a car. just routine for me to a point.

I agree with 04 Monte 100%.

Iridium all the way.

I had some Bosch platinums in my old T/A, and loved them!. It was my Camaro eater.
