Well,yesterday my "check engine" light in my 06 SScame on.The car seems to be running normal.I checked the owner's manual and it mentioned checking the gas cap.A loose cap can trigger the light.I checked the cap and it was on tight.So,I hit the Onstar button and had them do a diagnostics check.They said it was showing a code for a problem with the transmission control module.Onstar connected me with my dealership,and it goes in this afternoon.It only has 15000 miles by the way.

I will keep everyone informed of the outcome.

 

Trans control mods are becoming a more common problem with those cars...

 

So,I took it in yesterday and they did a full diagnostics.They found some damaged wires up in the left front under the hood that connect to the transmission control module.They repaired the wires and it seems fine now.They even washed my car.The whole thing took about an hour and a half.
