I've been really happy with my Equus Innova 3100e scanner. It was 89 dollars at Costco. You can order online from Walmart also for 98 dollars and have it sent to your closest store for pickup. The auto parts stores in Mpls/St. Paul want about 130 for it. The 3160 model is really nice as it also reads ABS codes and live data but it's more spendy of course.

So, light was on because son left gas cap off.

 

actually ur cel will turn off on its own...but it has to see forty obd2 run cycles with numbers that are in specification before the pcm will shut the light off
