Exclamation "Change Engine Oil" Light is on...

I did her oil change about 1,000 miles ago.
I've still got 2,000 before her next, what's wrong?

What do i have to do, or can be done to fix this.

Thanks for you advice, greatly appreciated.

You need to reset the oil life monitor after every oil change, even if its not on yet...

In my 06 you reset it through the Driver information center, or push the gas full down 3 times.

I've heard the on you model, the pushing the gas thing works, or you reset it through the radio!!!

Hmm, thanks MAMONTE.
I'm assuming pushing down on the gas while it's OFF. ?
My Monte didn't come with a manual unfortunately.
By any chance you wouldn't know how to use the radio to do it?
I know yours is a newer vehicle, but just by any chance you would know how to?

PM me an e-mail address and I will scan the pages with the radio interface instructions for my 2002 from my manual. Had to do my this week also, but it is too complicated to type it all in.

I've honestly never tried the gas pedal way, I just read about it in my manual...I am guessing you put the ignition in the on position, with out turning the engine on...

I have no clue about how to do the radio thing...i've just heard other people with your style Monte talk about the radio thing...sorry I don't have more details on that...

Chibiblacksheep could tell you i'm sure, he has the same body style Monte as you!

In your car, turn the radio off.
Hold the DISP button on the radio in for 10-15 seconds (the tuning button to change stations)
That will open up a menu, you navigate with the < seek > keys, and then to do the sub-menus you use the 1 PREV and 2 NEXT buttons.
Use the seek button to go to Oil Life, then hit 2 Next to see the word reset. Click the DISP button again
Then scroll with seek to the end, hit Display turn on your radio and you are done.

This is the same for a lot of the options you will see, including tire pressure monitor.
