my directions said to release the tensioner :P

ON the tensioner there is a square opening. Thats where you use the prybar. pry it and the belt will loosen up and be able to slide out. install the belt in reverse. 5 mins.

Its been a while since I worked on a 3100 and i assume a 3400 is about the same motor. Om a 3100 tjat square hole is there to put a 3/8 ratchet in to loosen the tensioner if I remember right.
