I don't see a pic from the OP, but the description sounds like what DRuben posted a pic of. If you are looking to replace it, go to a salvage yard. That should be NO problem to get.

Yup Been there done that!
If it's the cast aluminum "Bracket" that there called that mounts to the engine itself that the dog bones attach too. The ears that the mounting bolt goes through tend to crack and break.
For a V6 3800 Series II engine on a 2000+ Monte Carlo. Passenger side GM part number is: 24506488 and the Drivers side is Part # 24503458. Others engines might have different part numbers!
The passenger side is $45.37 at GM Parts Direct but there shipping/Handling cost is expensive!!!
The drivers side will probably go soon as well like mine did due to the added stress so you might as well replace both to be safe! Some reason the drivers side was cheaper around $35.00 at the dealership I go too.
Try not to over tighten them to the dog bones (torque arms) as they will crack & break again in time. The locking nuts won't come loose.
Oh and you need to remove the sensor that is in the way of the drivers side bracket as the rear bolt won't come out as it's in the way.

It's $100+ from the dealer IIRC and has a tendency to break all the time if every single bolt on it isn't as tight as possible. I have two of them I think laying around. If you want I could cut you a deal on one.
