5th Gen ('95-'99): brake lights
I know that the 5th gens have the multi function switch problem because my car has it.When I am on the brakes and turn on any turn signal the body lights go out.I have the replacement switch, just haven't installed it yet. I have another problem along these same lines. Any time it is raining both brake lights go out and the ABS is affected. When the roads dry up they work fine.(lights and ABS) Where do I start looking? Would the BCM have any bearing on this?I have posted this before and one reply was to check the column for burnt wires. How could rain affect the column? Im baffled at this.
Anything under the car I should look at? Any help is greatly appreciated.

For the ABS issue, do u mean when the roads are wet it takes a second for the brakes 2 grab? I had the same issue with my 98. I started using better brake pads and that helped immensity. the brake set up on these cars absolutely suck! I'm considering upgrading to '00 calipers.
You more than likey have a wire that's bare for the ABS system...that's why the ABS light is comeing on...
Does the ABS still work in the wet/rain?
You need to check all the wires for bare spots for the ABS system.... and repair/replace the worn, broken, frayed ones...

Hey guys I appreciate your help. During rain the brakes feel like the booster isn't working properly, and I need to push harder on the pedal. No the ABS light on the dash does not come on when this happens. After the roads dry everything is normal.Crazy,
huh? Im not 100% ABS works when raining, never tried it then. Thank you for all the help. Muley
