Default Blown Head Gasket- Need help

I recently got a 96 z34 with a little over 100k on it.
After driving it for about month and some coolant issues, even replacing the lower intake manifold. We have narrowed it down it being a blown head gasket.
From what I hear the LQ1 is a nightmare to work on, now Im no master mechanic and could use some advice from people who know this engine.
Now Im still searching around your site and looking for anything that can help but if Anyone could help me out, Your help with be greatly appreciated.

After talking to the guy at napa and more research. They say there a tool I need to lock the cams. Well two for the DOHC, But He said they dont carry it and I dont know where to find it.
Also Before I start this could someone make a checklist to help me though this, Honestly I never worked on an engine this big before but I plan to take my time and rely on this great community for help.

Sadly, that DOHC engine is not overly common (I think GM made it for one or two years). I know we have had members on here that have wrenched on them. Unfortunately I have not messed with one, so I am not sure what is involved.

But you did hit on an important element. Take your time. And in today's world, take a ton of pics as you tear it down (this way it can help with putting it back together). Try to keep various nuts/bolts grouped together as you move forward.

And ask questions here as you run into issues, many of us will try to offer advice when we can.
