Blower motor resistor question

So how do you know if it's the blower moter or the resister or both???? I have a 2004 monte carlo ss And the heater stopped working or so it feels... When I turn it on high barely if any heat comes out! It's going to snow in a few days and I need heat!😥 Please help!!

I'm glad I found your post . I may have to break mine to get it out , That 3rd screw is murder . I'll give it another try tomorrow .

the 2004 Monte Carlo resistor is held together by 2 rivets or plastic tabs. I’m not sure what tool you would use to remove it.

i have attached a picture of it. Any suggestions or ideas would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
