Blower motor resistor question
#11
just replaced mine, and boy was it junk! :p
the bolt on the right is hardest to get to, you will have to cut some of the liner and padding to make it easier since its super close to the firewall with very little room to work with. i also had to break some of the plastic around the pins as you can see, that made it so much easier to get to the screw. on the new one you can see they changed the layout a little to have more room on the the screw to the right. you only have to remove the front screw and loosen the 2 back ones, after that the piece can slide out and just replace it with your new one
hope this helps someone, not trying to hijack the thread or anything
Damn lol

I just did my 2001 today. I bought the part at Autozone for $33.00 thinking I had a 5MM socket. I didn't and I live in the boonies so I used pliers to get the front one out and jiggled the part out of the back two.
Then to get the new one in with the back screws in place I just poped out the blower motor and slid the new one's slots in the back screws put the front screw in and put the motor back in. Make sure you have a 5MM on hand it will be easier.
It is easier to get to with the blower motor out of the way (3 screws).

Since I did not have a socket to fit and the smallest socket I had (6mm) was close I was guessing thanks for putting the right info out there.
I am going to be getting one soon...

I have a couple questions... So I have to take my front dash off, is it below the radio? My stupid fan **** only works on 4 and 5 now, just happened yesterday, and the blower motor resistor is the part I need to fix this then?
Sorry if I have stupid questions and ruined this thread lol.

I found out that what I unplugged was in fact the blower resistor. Last night when I put the under-dash cover back in, I forgot to plug it back in and had no fan this morning. Still need to take pic or two show you guys that I do not have screws holding this in.
Frank, on a side note, what exhaust are you running? I really like the way it looks coming out the rear.
