Default Blower Motor

So every time I turn on my climate controls, i hear an annoying tick like sound, coming from the blower motor.

All speeds work perfectly fine, so I'm wondering if there is any way to tell if it's the blower motor or resistor?

All help is greatly appreciated

I'm guessing an '06+ Impala is similar to a '00+ Monte.
First, i don't think it's the blower resistor. I've never heard of those producing an audible sound, they just cause speeds not to work. My guess is the blower motor is on it's way out or something is in there with it (that came in a vent).

To remove the blower motor from our W-Body cars is EASY. Remove the lower passenger side trim panel, underneath there you will see the motor, remove the connector from it and the bolts holding it in and slide'er out. You could then try spinning it by hand and inspect for the noise or cause of noise.

Agreed. It could be a leaf or something that got sucked into the fan and is now spinning around making noise. Just yesterday, I cleaned out the blower motor of my '99. There were three or four oak tree leaves in there, making noise. No need to remove the blower motor on mine as it's easily accessible from the outside. I only had to remove the plastic shield at the base of the window on the passenger side to be able to reach into the blower area. There's about a 6" x 4" opening under that grill that leads to the blower - which explains why crap gets in there so easily.
