Hey guys my 2007 monte carlo ss decided it wanted to go in to theft deterrent system mode and my key wont turn back all the way ive been looking for a bypass because I dont feal comfortable paying chevy 350 to fix it , I was wondering if anyone has similar problem and can help thanks

Oh and now you get to carry two keys since the new key won't unlock your doors or glove box.

I had this problem too and for me it was the ignition switch. Get one from a boneyard and get on YouTube and search for "2001 Monte Carlo ignition switch" then look for the 10:29 video by William Mcintosh. (Sorry I can't access YouTube from work so I can't insert the link.) You then have to go through the procedure to get your theft deterrent system to relearn your new ignition switch. The relearn takes about 30 minutes if I recall. You have to wait for the Security light to clear a couple times I think. For that check this link.
