bad coil pack?

bad coil pack?
05 3800 63k. so yesterday i was driving and the engine cut out and came right back on and was fine. today on my way to the bank to pay my car note, it did the same thing but didn't start back up i banged on the coil packs a few time and it started a guy i work with said his car has been doing the same thing has anyone else had this problem?

My mom's 2000 Bonneville had the same problem, it turned out to be one of the coils....Dealer found and fixed the problem for $475....total rip off.
You'd be better off buying 3 new coils and replacing all 3 of them. It is SOOOOO easy on the 3800 series II, the coils are right there in front two screws each and boom your done. I don;t recall how much the coils were at the auto store, but I think they were pretty cheap, for sure a lot cheaper than having the dealer replace just the 1 bad one....
