Default Alternator Poblems

We are having problems with our battery draining. We have checked everything except the fusible link between the alternator and starter. We had the alternator tested and they said it was good. It has a new battery. I was told that sometimes it will test good, when in fact it can be bad. A bad diode or maybe the relay is sticking in the alternator. Do you'll have any suggestions?

How many miles do you have on the alt now?

If quite a few it may be worth while to just replace it if your not rechrarging the system.

It has 96,000 miles on it. Going to put a new one on today. Hopefully our problem will be solved. Thanks.

I had one go bad to the point it worked at low RPM's and then once it got above say 3000( I don't remember the number) it would kick out and reset itself every time ya shut the car off. Was kinda a pain because when I tested it, it worked fine but then it was still draining the battey. After a few days of messin with it I finally figured it out. Good luck
