That's still way too low. Is the compressor locked in, and if it is does it stay on, or cycle on or off. Is that reading from the low side (little port) or high side (big port)? I'm not sure how the home kits attach. Either way it should be much higher. Another thing you can do is feel the ac lines. One should be ice cold and the other should be almost to hot to hold on. If their about the same or not very hot and or cold, then its low on charge

The gauge I have indictates around 26 PSI while running on the low side. For the gauge that is barely into the 'blue' area where it is 'full'. Still has a lot i think i could put in it. Going to try putting more in, the air takes awhile to get cold but its not too bad. I'm sure with some more refrigerant it will be even better!

With a full charge, the air should get cold almost immediately. Remember, the system takes 1.88lbs. It should use a little more than 2 1/2, 12 oz cans. I put 3 in which is more than necessary but it does the trick. Its better than wasting 1/2 a can.

At 25 psi on the low side while the car is running with max air do you think it needs one more 12 oz can? I have one but don't want to over fill it. Thanks!

Any parts store should have the cap. You do need more, but theres no way to tell how much unless it is completely evacuated, vaccumed and charged with the correct amount. Too much is a really bad thing, expecially when charging from the low side. Your really suppose to charge from the high side only and I never understood why the home kits came with only a low side. When charging from the low side your dumping in liquid refridgerant and if you overfill and any gets to the compressor it will nuke it. I've seen it happen on a older mustang with r12 and its not a pretty sight

The home kits use the low side so it will suck the refridgerant from the can. If you put it on the high side it can blow up the can.

Im having the same problem i have an 02 ss with dcc and the air blew cold on both sides for the first few weeks i had it. Now the driver side blows at room temp while the passenger side is ice cold then after about driving 40 min or so the driver side cools down but not as cool as the pass side. What do i do to fix this.
