Default Is the AC compressor linked to the BCM?

Hey guys it's been a while. Some of you all remember me having some crazy electrical stuff going on....

electical problems on monte carlo - YouTube

It's just now starting to get warm in KY so I'm thinking of going to the stealership to finally have my BCM checked out and most likely replaced.

I'm just wanting to know if the AC compressor is linked to the BCM. If I end up getting a new one which is going to run around $400 and doesn't 'fix' my AC I'm going to be pissed lol. Currently the compressor just kicks on and off every 5 seconds.

Also, the freon was recharged last summer and it didn't change anything so that's not the issue here.

I don't believe it is connected at all.

When the a/c was recharged, was it inspected at all for leaks?

Has nothing to do with the BCM. The compressor kicking on and off is a sign of low refrigerant. You have a leak somewhere. Have a shop charge it and put UV leak dye in. THis will make it easier to find the leak.

Well hell. I took it to sears last time, they recharged it and didn't know what the issue was. I can't remember if they checked for leaks. Guess I'll call a shop tomorrow and see what they think.

LOL Sears probably just used this:

And sent you on your way.

I would definitely let an expert check it out for you. Be warned, it can get expensive.

Well I was right after all, the bcm is messing with the compressor along with several other things. Swapped out the evaporator which had a small leak but the problem is not solved. It's electrical related. Luckily I know a guy that can reprogram the bcm for 50 bucks, and all I have to do is buy the new BCM. WOOO

I don't know the history behind your problems, but I have to wonder if the remote start has something to do with it. It seems like you're having the most trouble when you use it to start the car. I understand that flashing backup lights is a sign of a faulty BCM, but maybe that is residual from the remote interfering with the electical system?

Issue resolved. It was the BCM. The one we took out was used so it was replaced before.
