Default 95 Monte Carlo Z 34, No Idea what the problem is...

3 weeks ago, the problems start....timing belt goes

My mechanic comes in and fixed the timing belt and guarantees me the engine timing is correct, car is sputtering, engine missing, sometimes cuts off when I start the car up and put it in drive...

He turns up the engine rpmsto keep it from cutting off while driving.

The car still hesitates and shakes while sitting at lightsbut its fine while giving it gas...

I go get routine things done, oil change, spark plugs/wires, he puts those in and no change in performance.

I take it to a computer diagnostic shop, no problems found but shop mechanic recommended that it could be the fuel filter.

I have my mechanic change the fuel filter and turn back down the rpms, car seems to be running fine....

Later on in the day, SAME F'N problems. Car still sputtering while idle, shutting off sometimes when I start it up, what in the blue hell is wrong with the car?

Still could be a bunch of things. I would start by putting different gas in. I would recommend Shell. Once that has been run through, run some Shell and E85 to finish cleaning out the injectors.

I actually only use Shell, theres 2 Shell stations around the corner from my house down the street from each other. Tried using injector cleaner, that helped slightly. I'm ready to get rid of this damn car....

Without more info I'm not sure. I would have another mechanic look at it then and inform the new one what was done already.

Look and listen for a vacuum leak
Check around the intake manifold for leaks
Check hoses ect going into the intake as well

It could be possible injectors as well

Hey guys, turns out the timing belt wasnt replaced correctly. Got it fixed and now the car is running PERFECT. Well, except for a intake manifold leak now....

Was it done by the same mechanic or did you bring it to a different place?

Glad that it is working much better now!!!
