85 Monte Carlo 355 CI recommendations for manual tranny swap
Hello everyone,
I have a mildly modified .030 350 with iron eagle heads. Comp cam 456 lift 261 duration (close to those numbers...don't have cam card in front of me now). Block has been align honed and rotating assembly is eagle balanced. About 9.2:1. I have the TH 200R and know I will have to baby it until transmission is replaced.
Does anyone have any recommendations on bolt on 5 speed or anything manual that has an overdrive so I don't have to change my rear gears. I am looking for minimal cost if possible. Block is 79 left dip 4 bolt main. Thanks!

Also vote for LT/LS Fbody T56.
If you're familiar with manual transmissions and their parts, it wont be overwhelmingly difficult.
If I recall...there are a few companies out there that sell a complete conversion kit...from the clutch pedal, slave, to clutch n trans.
