Default 6th gen Monte Carlo, whats the best way to replace cut battery terminal

Title says it all, I had some issues with the battery terminal wires, and i cut them trying to use one of those battery terminal replacement kits, the copper wire inside the terminal seems impossible to feed into the replacement part. Not sure what to do now, ive been stuck on this for a couple of months, coming back every so often to see what i could do. I'm considering replacing the whole cable, but that would probably be difficult and time-consuming. Any thoughts?

Replacing the whole cable isn't a big deal. The positive cable goes to the starter, fairly straight-forward and accessible, and the negative cable probably goes to the engine block, it may have a smaller wire going elsewhere - even still, it will just be a small bolt. We must not be buying the same cable ends, the ones I get the cable lays in a recess, and a strap bolts over the top - nothing really to feed into.
