Default 5th gen- Where does that dang line go?

So i got a 97 LS 3.1 and it has had two major problems: first is hesitation at low speeds, second is the climate control only blows from the windshield defroster, and the floor. Im thinking vacuum leak.

did the carb spray thing with no success at finding failure, so I gave up for awhile on it.

The other day i was exploring under the hood, and i followed a vaccum line with my hand to realize it wasn't attached to anything. it is about 3 feet long, but i cant figure out where it is supposed to attach. If any of you 5th gen guys can take a pic, or explain this to me, I would love you for it lol. If you need more info, or a pic let me know. Thanks!

If you could take a pic it would help. Is the vacuum line on the driver's side of the engine bay? It could be the line that goes down to the vacuum ball in the fender. So, with very little info and no pic given, you have two very good guesses to check out.

Thanks guys, I figured it out. It was in fact supposed to connect to the intake. I didn't really understand the concept of it until now, so it would obviously have to be attached to the intake lol. I got the car used and some idiot put a rubber cap over the port, when all I had to do was buy a 2 dollar boot thing to get it fixed properly. Hurray for directional heat
