4th gen supcharger?

i dont know where you can get a supercharger in canada, but im sure many us places will ship there, and yes you can supercharge it. theres roots blowers like the weiand 144
Holley Performance Products 144 Pro-Street Supercharger Kit 7740-1
those are good because for a roots blower they are short and often dont stick through the hood.
im sure there are also centrifugal blowers that will bolt on, but im thinking a roots blower would be the easier of the too.
i would recommend new piston rings, bearings, and a cam.

I'm sure you probably do not want to hear this, but supercharging the 5.0 probably isn't a good idea. When you add a blower, roots or centrifugal, you have to use a blow-through carburetor. Your stock Quadrajet won't work. When you change your carb, you also have to change the distributor because the carburetor has a sensor inside it that the computer uses data from to properly advance the distributor. So $2100 to $2500 for a new blower, $460 to $900 for a blow-through carb, and $100 to $400 for a distributor. A 5.0 HO with a blower is gonna net you about 300 horsepower. A Blueprint-brand 355 with iron heads costs $2300 and has 310HP and 360TQ. Of course, it's easier to add a blower, carb, and distributor to your existing engine, and shipping for a motor to Canada is gonna cost a lot too. But, once you change to a new engine, it will give you reliable horsepower for years to come. You can get a 420HP 383 stroker for $3400. It's a lot to think about. Something else you have to think about is your transmission. An 88 SS has a TH200-4R transmission from the factory. Is it going to hold up to all that extra power?

Well, from experience, the stock 2004r will not hold up to 300+ HP. It will get trashed quickly. Then you may have to address the rear axles and the stock 26 spline. Can hold some decent HP but if you continually launch or add some sticky tires, that to will need to be replaced in quick order. As wvmontels stated, you are better off with a crate motor, but will be spending some more money to firm up the driveline.
