Default 3800 SS power fluctuates uphill

Just got an 05 Tony Stewert MC. When going uphill w/cruise on, the power fluctuates. It idles smooth and does well on level surfaces. The original owner did say it needs a tune-up. Any idea?

lacking fuel or air would be my guess. Check fuel pressure to make sure it's not low. Cheapest routes are replace fuel filter, clean MAF, clean fuel injectors, replace cat.

Does it struggle when going uphill when you floor it on flat terrain?

no. it seems to have no problem when the ss kicks in. Maybe ss compensates for an intake problem. Any sensor for that?

PCV was not installed. A stuck open pcv valve will cause "surges" I found out. The idiot left the spring out so now I guess I start searching junk yards. Do ya think it's the same size spring (sc or non sc)?
