Default 3.1 litre water pump removal (1998)

Howdy all,
I might have to change out the water pump on my 98 monte.
Question, do I have to remove the power steering pump to get to all the bolts on the water pump. Some say yes other say no. What do ya'll say?
Thanks
G

No you don't have to remove the power steering pump. I believe all you have to do is remove the belt, and then you can get to the water pump pretty easily. It's one of the easiest things to change on that engine.

Default water pump

Thanks,
As I looked closer at the pics it looks like the complete pump is contained behind the pulley, should be a snap.

It is the easiest water pump I've ever had to change, I did my 98 a couple of months ago. the bleeder screws help "burp" the cooling system easy as pie!
