My girls dad cut it because he couldn't get the screw off the original one..and now it's held together with electrical tape and he was the one who said my engine is locked over the phone he hasn't seen it to really know what's wrong

I am beginning to suspect that the purple cable is your culprit,

I am thinking the same thing which is why I as asking about that cable. Why was it cut in the first place? ie why was he taking the starter off? Was it having problems before?

Yea when I 1st started having problems starting the car I thought it was the battery..bout a reconditioned on still wouldn't start. Just a click. tapped the original starter and it fired rite up. So I went to replace it and couldn't get the purple cord off so he cut it and tied it together and used electrical tape .it held up for a while until recently. .drove it one day got back in didn't start. Had to tow it home. Put another starter from the junkyard on and tryed to crank it and got the loud clunk

In my opinion, if you are still using that same purple cable, I believe you are going to continue to have problems until you replace it with one that is completely intact. You might also want to take your starter to your nearest auto parts store and have them check that.

Yeah I think we are all on board with you need to do something with the wire and also check the starter - you tapped it and it started so you were thinking the solenoid was out? You might also have jiggled the cable just enough to make contact.

Ok guys I'd narrowed it down..I just walked up to autozone and had them check the spare starter and it's good it passed the test. And then I bought a socket to see if I could turn the crank and it did turn. So it can't be engine lock or the starter. And I bought some butt connectors for the purple cord that's was cut and some spark plugs.. so tomorrow morning I'm Goin to change the BCM and use the connectors on the wire and put the starter that I just had tested on and see what happens.. I'll let u know what happens. .and also while I was turning the crank it squeaked so I put some lub on it??
