ORIGINAL: Twisted_Metal

That's what I thought, but it's all one piece .... I need a 20-25mm socket and some leverage to move that nut ...
Autozone will rent the tool for free.

The center nut is an axle nut. It holds the axle to the hub you do not need to take it loose as alltak said. Take out the torx screw like 2000LS said, then use a softface hammer (Just in case you miss and hit a wheel stud, less chance of damage) and hit it a few times between the wheel studs that should free it up. Rust and road grime build up between the rotor and the wheel brearing making it look like it might be one piece and holding it together. A few good well placed raps with a hammer will do what you need it to do. The torx screw does not need to go back on unless you want to, it is put there to hold the rotor in place on the assembly line till the wheels go on.

When you put the wheels on it is extremely important to cross torque them to 100 lb-ft with a quality torque wrench. Improper installation on wheel/tires are a huge reason for a lot of rotor warpage front and rear.

Job Well Done! (Patting self on back)

New vs. Old

New vs. Old

Finished Job Left Front

Right Front Rotor Removed

Finished Job Right Front

They smoked a little after I drove awhile and people kept telling me my car was overheating and I just nodded and drove faster ....

Sure you aren't just feeling the Anti-lock Brakes kinkin'-in!

That car looks fast sitting still!

just buy the service manual for the 2006 Monte... same exact car/parts... probably why they don't have a separate one just for 07's...
