I daily drive an '05 with the 3400. Today I was moving the car to mow. I shifted in reverse and then pulled forward to park it. It will not shift in to Reverse, Park, or even my low gears. The button on the shifter will not depress completely and I can't move it otherwise. Any ideas what I should look for? Or if anybody knows exactly what's up that helps too. Really hoping that it's a fix that I can do myself because I can't quite afford to have it taken to a shop.

 

You will need to remove the shift handle and then the console section to see what is up in there. Most likley that area is dirty and sticky, also the shift plate inside the console is a plastic material and may have a broken or cracked piece.
