2006 interior teardown questions
#2
it would probibly be a good investment to pick up a haynes manuel for starters, it can tell you where alot of the fasteners are. another thing to remember about these cars is that they are all assembeled in a similar fashion. even on the 5th gen cars many interior panels are held on using the same basic methods as 6th gen and 7th gen cars. check out the "how to" section of this forum, im sure you can find something to help you out over there in one of the sections. and good luck getting everything togeather

Rear Seat:
There is a trim panel that shows the Baby seat logo. That pulls out. Its held in with studs that have threads(no nuts) I broke mine but you cant tell. It pulls straight up. When that is removed. You will see two 18mm(If I remember correctly) Bolts on the right and left side. They hold in the seat bottom. There is a Nut in the center but we will get to later. Remove the two left and right bolts. Pull the front of the seat straight up toward the headliner. It will pop up. Then the seat bottom will come right out.
Now the seat back. Remove the seat belt bolts and the center nut. (18mm think). Its 18 or 16 I forget off hand. Fold the seats down and you will see four 10mm bolts on the two on each side of the seat latch. Remove them. Once removed. take the seat belts and move them to the rear deck lid just to get them out of your way. It is best to have two people to do this part here. Pick the seat up to the head liner and re move it from the studs and clear from the rear of the car and take out the passenger side of the car (seat slides eaiser)
The rear deck lid is easy to get out. There are 4 or 5 push locks, just pop them out the deck lid pulls toward the front the car. Be carful as well this is only thin wood(particale board).
Pics below of what mine looked like witout the seat installed.

Sorry for the delay. Yeah The whole rear seat has to come out to remove the rear dash cover to install new speakers.
The front of the rear seat is held in by pressure no bolts or screws. SHould be able to leaft up the front toward the headliner. It will be hard but it does go.

i think he ran better speaker wire, from his HU. thats smart and what i did even to the doors too. stock wire is super small and isnt to be trusted. great pics. i dynomated from under the rear seat to the trunk lid, doors, headliner[right in the middle above the mirror], and glove box.
personally if you do the work to take it all out you might as well slap some aluminum covered tar in there. lol
