2004 Monte Carlo Wiring Help
I have always been able to search here and find the info I need, but not this time. Just last week my Monte caught on fire in ther trunk compartment area from my stereo equipment. Im weighing my options because im afraid that the insurance company may total my car out. After looking at the damage, I see that the group of wires feeding from the passenger side fuse box to trunk to the tail lights, reverse lights, ECM (mounted under the rear deck) are burned and possibly the ECM itself damaged too. I really would like to keep my car but am In over my head if I decide to get it fixed? is it possible to easily get these replacement parts? I have a 2004 LS 3.4L and would greatly appreciate any info provided.

Your PCM (these cars don't have a separate ECM) is under the hood, inside the air box...
The silver metal box under the rear deck, between the speakers is the factory amp
The box on the wheel well is the OnStar system
Where exactly are the wires fried? If it's just fried wires, your best bet is cut & splice, making sure to use the correct gauge replacement. Most importantly, you need to figure out exactly what caused the issue to begin with
