Default Tempeture Gauge

I have an 04 SS, and the Tempeture Gauge is acting wierd. It sticks when i shut the car off sometimes. Sometimes it seems to work fine and then it starts to act up. Don't know if i'm actually getting a good reading or not. Was wondering if hooking up an aftermarket Tempeture Gauge from NAPA or PEP BOYS would work or not. A guy at work told me that with the newer cars it might interfere with the computer and have problems with the check engine light. Any thoughts.

Thanks, Dave

I would get the stock one fixed before adding in another temp gauge from an auto parts store. It would be kinda pointless when you already have one that can work,

The reason for getting the aftermarket gauge is because the gauge don't work properly. In order to fix the gauge i have to send the whole cluster out and it will not be cheap to fix.

It's not that expensive.

I charge $40 for a single gauge motor replacement ( $15 for each additional motor) plus $2- return shipping/handling (in the Continental US)
