2003 Monte 3.4 Starting Problem

check your filler neck for your tank. if that has a leak in it it will cause an evap leak and cause problems fueling up. as for the starting issue my car just started doing something similar. I am gunna dig into it this weekend and i will let you know what i find.

I guess I did forget to mention that my car has had problems filling up to where i have to hold the filler to a slow pace or it will just stop. It does get really annoying. I have yet to fix the filler neck as well.

Ahhh i was hoping you fixed the filling up problem. No one seems to know why, i hate getting gas during the winter time though. I pulled out my filler neck in 2014 and put water through it and there was no leak. I've had the filling up problem since 2013...

Default Ignition

Ok I have a 2004 Monte Carlo I put a new ignition switch in it one day I went to Walmart came out and it didn't want to start so we replace ignition switch like I said then we got it to run and we got it home and ever since then I haven't been able to get it to start again how do you bypass the security system or do you have the security system code I don't know

my car used to do this, but it cranked much longer, the problem was the fuel pressure regulator, one way to test it is to plug it to a fuel pressure tester, they rent those at autozone, another way i heard is to disconnect the hose to it, and if fuel leaks out it has failed or is failing, hope that helps some

Yeah I've replaced that already but i do smell fuel every once in a while when i start the car up. Might have to look into that, thanks man.

Wouldn't hurt to recheck I've got a multifunction switch seem I have to replace once a year
