Default 2003 Monte 3.4 Starting Problem

Since around March or April i have been having a problem with my car taking a while to start up after it sits for about 3-8 hours. But over night when it sits it will start up quicker than when it sits for a few hours. The car always starts up but takes about 2 seconds longer than a usual start so i've let it slide but getting tired of it now. Something tells me it's something wrong with getting fuel to the engine. I have replaced the EVAP purge valve twice since 2013, replaced the EVAP purge canister last year, and fuel pump this year. Maybe it is the EVAP lines? Also it has had problems fueling up since i bought the car in 2013, i have to barely hold the trigger to fuel up and it takes about 10 minutes to fill up my car. If that info helps anything. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated

I assume it has no active check engine codes, have you used a scan tool to see if it has any diagnostics that have failed? Also, when you have trouble starting it, any performance issues? And what exactly does it do when it has trouble starting? Does the starter sound different?

I have a check engine code but it's not something related to the starting system, i think it was one of the reoccurring codes i usually get. Might have to get my car scanned and post what codes they are. But it's all normal, no performance loss. Starter sounds fine just takes a bit to start. Every once in a while i do get a whiff of gas but it goes away after a few seconds.

The codes may not relate to the starting system, but might be part of the puzzle.

At the moment, I don't have any thoughts. I dealt with a 3400 '05 Impala that sometimes started weird and sometimes didn't. No codes and no signs that pointed to a root cause. I threw a couple parts at it "just because" and that did not change anything and never found the cause.

I'll have to get a video of it. I'll get a cold start and a semi-warm start and you'll hear the starting problem

i have been having the same problem lately. My dad's a mechanic and started looking at it. He unplugged the mass air flow sensor and it runs better than it did before.

Wouldn't think a MAF sensor would have anything to do with starting

From a cold start the MAF should not be in play at all (it has a heating element that has to warm up before the PCM does anything). But, can't hurt anything to unplug it and just see what happens (it may throw a CEL during that time).
