Default 2002 Monte drifts backwards on any hill. Is something wrong?

I have a 2002 Monte Carlo with the 3.4 engine and automatic trans. Only just about any incline (even very slight) it will drift backwards as soon as you let go of the brake. I don't recall it doing this before and all of my other automatic cars will hold on a hill.

Does anyone know if this is normal or not? I looked in the AllDataDIY manuals and can't find a reference to it; not even in the Technical Service Bulletins.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

my car rolls back on alot of hills. and it just sits there if you let go of the break. probably have to adjust your idle to make it stop.

thanks for the feedback. I did call a friend who works at Ammaco Transmissions and he said that this is perfectly normal. It's due to the low idle speed and low pitch of the vanes inside of the torque converter. They are built this way to improve fuel economy through reduced friction.
