2002 mc ss driver seat problem

2002 mc ss driver seat problem
I was vacuuming out my car the other day and I pulled the lever to let the seat back. When I did, I head a popping noise and the seat did not retract to the upright position like previously before. It's almost as if there's a spring for the retaining system that either broke or came loose. Has anyone experienced this? If so, how do I fix???
