2002 Battery drain due to bad signal switch?
A few weeks ago my turn signals quit working, I checked the fuses and they were fine, and the signals started working again. I thought nothing more of it.
Sunday morning I hopped it and got the click, no turning over, the radio, etc was working but I noticed the clock was 12:00. I jumped it, started right up, had the battery tested it was fine. I got in this morning, everything was stll fine. I went to leave work today and dead. I got another jump and it was fine, except the turn signals were not working again. Could the turn signal switch be going bad and causing a drain?
Thanks for any help,
-Dan

Have you gotten the alternator tested?
I could be wrong, but I always thought the turn signal switch was connected to a source that is not hot when the key is turned off. I've left my turn signal engaged (one direction or another) before, while at work, and never had a problem. Maybe look at the flasher and hazard light switch. They've been known to go more often on newer models.

RE: 2002 Battery drain?
I disconnected the battery so whatever is draining wouldn't drain over night. I reconnected this morning and it BARELY turned over. Ther battery's charge looked fine though. I'll be getting the alternator checked today too....

RE: 2002 Trouble starting (Battery drain?)
I had everything checked and everythign came out OK. I removed the turn signal and hazard fuses in case that where the drain was coming from, and today when I put the key ont the ON position the battery gauge reads fine then it quickly drops to near 0. I was able to get it started though (fien the first try, not so easy the second). I did notice a weird buzz from under the hood right before I started the engine, like a motor running.

You said you got the battery tested. Was it load tested? If you disconnected the battery and it still went dead overnight, it sounds like a dead cell. A battery with a dead cell can still read 12 volts with a volt meter. But when tested under load, the voltage will suddenly drop.
How old is the battery? If it's still the factory original battery that came in the car, it may be time to replace it.
The fact that you had the turn signals worked on may just be a coincidence. A friend of mine brought his car in for emissions testing. When he started the car to leave, his left headlight burnt out from old age. Coincidence.
