Default 2001 monte ss with intermittent problem

I have a 01 monte ss it has a strange problem and I am really needing help.
It runs and drive fine it has 176 k on it
And here is the problem when I am driving. it will just die it starts right back up and no more issues for days. Also if you are going down the highway the all the instrument lights will flash and the ding goes off then its fine. Also a intermittent problem .
Now yesterday I was going about 20 mile an hour accelerating and it was like the car died I looked at the gauges and the car was still running but real rough then it backfired thru the exhaust and if you gave it any throttle it did nothing. I then shut the key off and restarted it. It ran smooth but the engine was pinging when accelerating. I shut it back off and re started it and it ran fine no pinging nothing and couldn't get it to do it again
HELP !!!!

Welcome to the forum.

It sounds like you may have a worn ignition switch. When the contacts wear or become corroded/oxidized it can cause all kinds of gremlins - stalling, dash lights going berserk, non-operative accessories, etc.
