2001 monte carlo ss wont start and dies suddenly
The techs probably can't interpret the data well enough to find a logical solution. They are probably not wanting to go above and beyond to find the problem.. it could be something more simple in the theft deterrent system and they just decided to throw parts into it rather than test circuits and such. had a theft module problem on a mustang and nearly replaced the 600 dollar unit when all that was wrong was a bad wire running out of the ignition switch.. might want to look into a specialty auto electric shop with guys who do nothing but electrical fixes and pay their rates and let the dealer take the loss in this case.
Well I know they dont want to go above and beyond and do anything to the car. The car died closest to this dealer and thats why he took it. He told me since I didnt buy the car from him that I will need to start buying parts and have them swap them until the find the problem..
They said the fuel pressure is borderline and it could be quite a few things electrical. It also could be the mass airflow sensor.
The sexline # really pissed me off. I had problems with my 01 xtremes fuel gauge fluttering from new- and took it in to them 7 times, only for them to tell me theres nothing wrong with it.
This is why I bought a Dodge truck 3 yrs ago and wouldnt buy another chevy. I love chevy cars but their service reps- atleast out here, are brutal.

i have had them say the same thing to me.
is this your dealer ship the you purchased your car from? NO!
then we will fix your car but you will have to pay for the parts up front and then submit the receipts to that dealer ship for reimbursement.
I told them where to go and went to a different dealership and was Abel to talk with the service manger and he was willing to work with it and didn't even tell me this.
but yes i have heard of their crap before. .

So the car originally died out about 2 miles from this dealership. So the logical thing to do is to take it to the closest dealer and to have the service done by the same dealer as our conversion van.
So now the car is at the original dealer and we will see what happens.
